2018 Sustainability Summit Brings Together West Coast Political Elite... The 2018 Sustainability Summit, a product of The Los Angeles Business Council, brought together major stakeholders of the Pacific Coast Collaborative, an alliance representing a West Coast region of more than 55 million people with a combined GDP of $3 trillion. Attending the conference at the Getty Center in L. A. were the Governors of Oregon and Washington, and the Mayor of Los Angeles. Proclaiming that the collaborative amounts to one-fifth of the world's economy, Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee said, "we have demonstrated that clean energy works." Oregon Governor Kate Brown agreed, saying "we are growing the economy -- a green, clean economy -- the economy of the future." Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, announced that 28,000 clean energy jobs have been created in L.A. alone in the last four years. Leading the discussion was Michael Northrop, Sustainable Development Program Director at The Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
